Job Description

As a Health Care Assistants with Elegant Care Home Inc., you will play a vital role in delivering personalized, high-quality care to our residents. You will assist with daily living activities, administer medications, provide personal care, and offer companionship. We seek individuals who are compassionate, dependable, and driven to positively impact the lives of others.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist residents with daily living tasks such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and eating.
  
  
• Support residents with mobility and physical support, using appropriate techniques and equipment.
  
  
• Administer prescribed medications safely and accurately, following proper documentation procedures.
  
  
• Provide emotional support and companionship to promote mental and emotional well-being.
  
  
• Observe and report changes in residents’ conditions to supervisors.
  
  
• Maintain accurate records of care and comply with health regulations and organizational policies.
  
  
• Collaborate with families, healthcare professionals, and team members to create and implement individualized care plans.
  
  
• Encourage resident participation in recreational and social activities.
  
  
• Ensure a clean, safe, and homely environment, adhering to safety and infection control standards.
  
  

What We’re Looking For

• Prior caregiving experience preferred but not required—we provide training.
  
  
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  
  
• Compassionate and empathetic nature.
  
  
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  
  
• Flexibility to work varying shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  
  
• Willingness to participate in ongoing training and development.
  
  

Training and Certification Requirements

• Personal Support Worker (PSW) certificate or equivalent (preferred).
  
  
• First Aid & CPR certification (required or willingness to obtain).
  
  
• Manual Handling and Safe Lifting Training (preferred).
  
  
• Background check and vulnerable sector screening (required).
  
  
• Ongoing commitment to professional growth and meeting care standards.
